Falcons Win
Last night, in a stunning display, the Fogelberg Falcons won the final Atlantic Coast Baseball League title by defeating the Merrimack Owls in a sudden death elimination championship game. Their third title in four attempts proved to be a difficult path for the Falcons, narrowly escaping the Joplin Crawdads in the first round before defeating Merrimack it their first meeting ever.
A parade will march down Southport today to celebrate the championship.

I heard about it on the news here in Sweden. They made a pretty big deal about it, I even think they will air the parade live.
Congratulations to the Falcons!
Hats off to Don Zimmer and the boys. I can hear Harry Carey now with the final call… I’ll tip a brew back to the boys from the Mac!
I don’t think I have ever seen a more courageous performance than the one that Lou Boudrou put on last night. First he hits a grand slam against the Crawdads in the semi-final and then hit two more home runs against the Owls. Unbelielable. Congrats to the Falcons. They truly owned the ACBL.
Boudreau was all that and a bag of chips. It was freaking amazing.

I hope the Wildcats take a road trip back to Kansas for the wedding…
“Firecracker Championship Series”
???
The boys are all amped up! A FCS MUST happen. Seaver, Franco and Carter are already in camp getting ready, Schmidty arrives next week.
Joey Medwick thinks the team looks rusty, but will come around.
I hear the players wives are coming too, but they have been smirking a lot and whispering about trips to someplace named “Bogie’s” and hoping the other team’s wives are up for some long gossip/catch-up sessions . . . .
I know two things:
1. “Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line!”
and
2. Never underestimate the Wildcats when a title is on the line.
woohoooooooo! playa’s wives unite in the land of a thousand shakes and curly fries topped with everything!
